The majority of my 20+ professional years have been in sales and project management. During that time I have launched successful businesses, coordinated project teams, and negotiated many deals from start to finish.
My approach to business is a high focus on customer satisfaction and transparency. Spending time in manufacturing introduced me to the challenges of supply chain constraints, forecasting, rebates, and clients' frustration with much of the process today.
I was introduced to the Group Purchasing Organization(GPO) model and saw tremendous potential for another industry that I'm passionate about, fermentation. Specifically, the great breweries, wineries, and distilleries that continue to open and grow throughout the US.
This led to the creation of The Beer and Wine Federation, a GPO established to help both owners and suppliers.
GPOs are not new, but there is a lot of work and coordination that goes into establishing partnerships with high-quality suppliers. Likewise, we also need to enable busy brewery/winery/distillery owners to make purchasing simpler, not more complicated. We believe the key to success is long-term partnerships with all members of the Federation, both owners and suppliers.
